NEARCP’s 2024 Annual Conference will be held from November 20 – 22 at DoubleTree by Hilton in Danvers, Massachusetts.
The conference attendance is expected to attract 700 professionals from multiple disciplines (health professionals, mental health and substance use disorder clinicians, doctors, criminal justice professionals, probation officers, judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, corrections, law enforcement, recovery support staff and advocates, state and community groups) from the New England states, reflecting a wide diversity of experience with treatment court programs, often ranging from under one year to 25 years.
Conference Goal
The goal of the conference is to promote an exchange of information, experiences, collaboration, and networking among criminal justice professionals, treatment courts and healthcare professionals, and community/state leadership in the New England states regarding promising programs and strategies that have proven their effectiveness.
Conference Theme
Our 2024 conference theme is “Where Justice, Treatment, and Recovery Meet” with particular focus on:
- Justice reform practices that relate to treatment court and harm reduction strategies;
- Examining treatment practices;
- Monitoring the current state and regional issues of urgent importance to New England, including the continuing opioid crisis and the legalization of marijuana/medical marijuana, and its impact on treatment courts, its clients and the community;
- Identifying cultural, equity, and inclusion issues affecting treatment, recovery, health care, and support services;
- Sharing knowledge and exchanging information among criminal justice, treatment court, and health care professionals and community/state leadership;
- Envisioning the future: promising model and pilot programs/strategies, including reentry courts, family services, recovery support, and Medication Assisted Treatment (M.A.T.);
- Communicating and exchanging information about other state evidence-based practices.
The 2024 conference is designed to provide a rich blend of hands-on learning opportunities by means of workshops, panel presentations, forums, and keynote speakers.
Optional Event: Our American Family Documentary
On the evening of November 20, there will be an in-person screening and post-screening discussion with Linda, the mother featured in the film.
